Coming Out Guide

Whether you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, still figuring things out, or someone who just wants to better understand what it means to be a GLBT individual, we think you'll find this literature helpful and informative. RPA would like to acknowledge PFLAG, BAGLY, and The Campaign To End Homophobia for their absolutely amazing donated literature.

Be Yourself - Questions and Answers for Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Youth: This brochure takes you through the many questions you may be facing, if you're trying to understand whether or not you're gay, lesbian or bisexual. And helps you with the issues you'll face as you begin to consider telling others. This brochure is the best place for any lesbigay or questioning teen to start.

Coming Out to Your Parents: This brochure covers in detail the issues you're likely to face when you decide to "come out" to your parents. It's a good idea to read this before you take that step, because it's important to be prepared for the questions they're likely to ask, and the range of possible responses they may have.

For Parents of Gay Children: It's a good idea to have materials available for your parents to read when you come out to them. It's typical that they'll be surprised, and whatever they're reaction, it's likely that they have a lack of information (and possibly even have misinformation) about what it means for their son or daughter to be gay, lesbian or bisexual. This brochure was written for parents (although it's good reading for you, too) and can help them on their own journeys of acceptance.

I Think I Might Be Gay ... Now What Do I Do?: This is another good brochure to help you figure out whether those feelings of being attracted to other guys is an indication that you're gay.

I Think I Might Be a Lesbian ... Now What Do I Do?: This brochure is written by lesbian youth, for lesbian youth and those questioning their sexual orientation. It offers some very good perspectives to help you figure out feelings you may be having of being attracted to other girls.
